  1. Good food is a two-edged sword; one of the joys of life but it puts your waist-line in peril. I may be retired but I am 5'-8 and 160lbs of mostly muscle. I try to eat quality and high fiber food (farm food); I always have a light breakfast, light lunch and a good dinner, and no snacking. I have a work-out routine and mountain bike regularly, and my weight has been stable since my twenties.
-We grossly over-eat in sedentary North America; most of those slim hard-working people in third world countries get by on two meals a day. I walk through the supermarket and see aisles full of huge bags of chips and gallons of soda, and processed junk of all types; really who is eating all this crap, no wonder we have so many 300lb people waddling around and a health care system in peril. Btw all those teens sitting slack-jawed in front of video games 8hrs a day will be having heart attacks in middle age.
-If you're a gay guy then keeping yourself in shape is important if you value your sex life. A person needs to remember is that if you take in more calories than you burn up, the excess goes straight to the waist so adjust your diet/exercise accordingly.
-Being a chef is definitely going to sweeten the pot when you are looking for a partner, but be careful with the calorie intake; excess weight is difficult to lose. - Wayne :)

  2. Good advice, Wayne! :) This list reflects the menu I was working on for a banquet...not my dinner for the evening.
